Contactivity is a new therapeutic approach aimed to help avoidant individuals of all ages. We specialize in treating the main challenges associated with avoidant behaviors including disconnection and self-isolation, school refusal, lack of motivation, overuse of screens, social anxieties, difficulty in coping and overuse of alcohol and cannabis. The therapeutic process is based on unique conversations that help in regulating shame and anxiety as well as therapeutic activities that empower and motivate to change.

Contactivity is an addition to the original NVR (New Authority) approach which focuses on helping parents of young people exhibiting disruptive or aggressive behavior. Our goal is to expand the scope of NVR therapy to meet the challenges of working with avoidant individuals and their families. The principle that guides our approach is that, first and foremost, we must attune ourselves to the needs of disconnected young people, to accurately appraise their abilities, to understand why avoidance makes sense in our world, to acknowledge the tempting powers of this life stance, and even its positive sides. Only then can we effect a connection that fosters within such a person self-acceptance, motivation and willingness to cope with the problems of today’s reality.
